Its not that I wouldn't LOVE to go. But its a long way to go for me. I was hoping there would be a Blizzcon-Europe again, but it seems not

The WWI (aka 'Blizzcon Europe') is once every 2 years, as far as I know, so... next year. As for getting to the American Blizzcon, US visa policy makes it almost impossible, so I'm not even thinking about other issues such as money.

actually last years WWI was merged with Blizzcon and the one before the Paris one was in Korea so even if they did it again no guarantee it'd be close to us at all

Related, but off topic from the OP - I would guess that this hints at a release announcement of Cat right around that same time to take advantage of BlizzCon publicity for the big release announcement, as well as in anticipation of holiday sales, etc. I could conceivably see Cat's release date being made public in October at BlizzCon with actual release right around Black Friday (the Friday after the Thanksgiving holiday here in the States).
Purely speculation, though.

I'm from the place where women-who-want-to-marry-rich-Americans come from, apparently. We're not included in the visa waiver program and a friend of mine got told to her face that she's not going to visit her aunt (she was), she actually wants to find an American husband. Erm, right.
Basically, it's a matter of luck, but your chances are higher if you're married and/or have a good paying job and/or own a house. I don't have either of those, I'm young and I'm not willing to risk the $130 visa tax which they don't refund if you're refused. And when I do decide to try out, it will be to visit some friends who live far away from California. Blizzcon will have to wait, but I do plan on trying to go to the WWI if it's close by next time.

Considering it as it would be a good excuse to go and do some shopping (things in the US are so much cheaper than the UK). Have to be weighed against the 11 hour flight though. *yuk*

I'd love to go, and I only live about 20 minutes away (15 miles or so) but getting tickets is far from easy.

I flew straight from Dulles(Washington DC) to Tel Avi for a week long tour of Israel and the plane was so empty we took over the plane and had full rows to ourselves. On the way back the plane was near full. But overall 10+ hour flights on good airlines are not that bad. I have been to London, Frankfurt, Amsterdam, Nairobi, Tel Avi, Athens, and Uganda with great flights. That is if there is a good movie or I get some sleep. I do understand the close quarters though. Well hopefully I can save up the cash to fly from the east coast to the west coast this year.
