I'm just curious how many SAN members will pick up the RP torch, now that we are all together on an RP server.
My response is "doubtful". I don't plan on it, but if I happened to be at the wrong place at the wrong time (or right place, right tme, depending on POV) then I might.

I think that we should always be respectful. It's quite easy to destroy someone else's immersion on a RP server. On the other hand, walking everywhere bores me to tears, and I'd feel like a tit trying to talk to everyone in that "ja, Mon" kind of fake island accent because I play a troll. That said, there are some fun RP-ish things that we could do. When I was on Moonglade for a while, our guild had a "peaceful" tour where we went to set off fireworks in all the Horde capital cities - that was an extremely fun night even though they tended to misunderstand our diplomatic intentions.

No thanks. At least not the sort of RP that involves me talking like a 19th century blood elf maiden. Or the sort of RP that requires said maiden to have her own personality and history and reasons for killing 100 boars. I like the idea of guild events, as long as I can stay Jen, not Avilion the warlock with a tragic fate.

Well, I don't plan on ruining anyone's immersion, but I don't plan on participating either. I'm not so much an actor in a movie, but more of an extra on the set. A wall flower, or bug on the wall. With a sword, shield and an octopus on my face

Well I think it'll have to be mixed. There is such a large variety of types of people in the guilds that expecting everyone to do participate in the same thing is a bit much. Slow and sure wins.

RP a highly educated troll with a degree in engineering that speaks in a Scottish brogue and has a deeply cynical outlook on life. I've done little RPing, but I'm sure RPing doesn't mean fitting the mold, where would the fun be in that? As for walking everywhere, well, let's just say your troll was born with a curse that causes him to explode if he goes slower than 4 miles an hour.

I wont be "spoiling" anyones RP game, at the same time the only RP I think I'll be doing is consistently enjoying burning things with passiflora. Thats a form of RP isn't it?

I've actually always wanted to give an RP server a go I've just never been motivated to do so because I haven't known anybody on one. I guess I might give it a go when I'm in the mood to try, but if I'm around and about and somebody randomly starts RPing with me.. hm. So far I've not said anything, the same way I do with trolls and gold spammers, because I couldn't think of a polite way to say "go away I'm busy." I don't want to disrespect anybody

Hahaha...I can't remember if if was my baby troll hunter or another troll character, but I created one to level through the blood elf area as the adopted sister of a belf. No one had told her she was adopted, she just thought that she was the ugly sister. That was fun. But then in (I think) Farstriders Retreat one of the belf NPCs refused to let her repair...they didn't serve her type there! I've got a screeenshot of that someplace, I was really shocked.

I'm rather on the fence about it all - I'm not averse to it, but I've never really RP'd before at all.
However, I do have RP clothes sitting in the bank, so.... >.>

At the very least I'll be speaking in character in /s and responding to any other RP-ers who cross my path. Although my grasp of the troll lingo is limited, and I feel a bit like a knob saying 'yo, mon!' all the time Although my main characters are on an RP server it's nowhere near as active as AD, and I'm not really involved in the 'RP scene'. I'm quite interested in exploring the RP side of things a little more than I'm used to on AD. I've even tried walking to quests, which actually is quite relaxing particularly when guild chat is busy and I'm trying to pay attention to that rather than what I'm supposed to be killing! Let's just say that Lenbla won't be the speediest priest to reach level 80

Maybe you're a troll raised by orcs and therefore don't use all that many "ya mon"s. There's lots of ways to get around things .

My characters have spent a LOT of time in Ironforge inns over the years so most of my speech tends to take on dwarvish characteristics... maybe she needs some kind of 'raised by dwarves' backstory so I don't have to think too hard
