Hey all, I was thinking about ways that those of us interested in RP could be able to have some positive practice RP experiences and I had what I hope is a great idea -- or at least not a terrible idea.
Next time the Darkmoon Faire is in Elwynn Forest -- which isn't until June 6-12, because we just missed it in Elwynn earlier this month -- we should go to the Faire!
Sometime during that week, take some time to go to the Faire. You might ask in guild chat before you go if anyone else is at the Faire, or would like to go with you, just so you know that you won't be the only SAN person there and that there will be someone friendly to talk to. Going in small groups would be fun, too, but I don't think we should descend upon the Faire en masse, as any officially, formally organized thing. Then while you are at the Faire, make an effort to have an In Character conversation with someone.
It could be as simple as asking a PC in Goldshire, "Excuse me, I'm looking for the Darkmoon Faire, but I can't seem to find it. Do you know where it is?"
Or greeting a fellow SANer with "Fancy meeting you here! What brings you to the Faire, my friend?"
Or perhaps, after having a few drinks at the refreshment tent, challenging someone to a friendly Steam Tonk battle.
Or maybe discussing your Sayge's Fortune with someone else, and trying to puzzle out what it might mean.
It doesn't have to be a long conversation or a dramatic conversation. The important thing is that you have some kind of In Character conversation using /say, assisted by emotes as appropriate to convey your character's personality.
Since June is still three months away, that also gives us time to think about our characters -- who is this person? how do they talk, act, respond? What reason would this person have to go to the Darkmoon Faire?
(And, of course, what should I wear to the Faire? )
