I might give him a title as well. Maybe Kumquat the Hapless. Hapless? Hopeless? Helpless?

OK, I've downloaded FlagRSP and tested the waters a little last night. Been trying to think of a description. So far came up with the following. Comments, critique, suggestions (be gentle with me) welcome...
Sephrenia carries the worries of the World underneath her calm exterior. She looks in need of a hug. She will willingly, even eagerly care for anyone, especially the Paladins she has dedicated her life to teaching. Her appearance shows someone who tries hard to clothe herself for protection, but prefers to look good. A small animal of one sort or another is constantly at her side.

Her appearance shows someone who tries hard to clothe herself for protection, but prefers to look good. A small animal of one sort or another is constantly at her side. A good start - the details about being clothed for protection and looking in need of a hug work well - they suggest someone who feels a little vulnerable. Some of the other aspects, such as "she will willingly, even eagerly care for anyone" would work better as things that emerge from roleplaying your character rather than being described in your FlagRSP profile. Wabashaw's suggestion that "a description should not tell another player more than you would be able to tell about a person you walked passed on the street" is a good rule to follow here. One way to get around this might be to think about the kind of behaviours that she might show publicly and describe those, rather than the attitudes behind them. For example: "Sephrenia frequently smiles at those she passes, but the smile seems a little tired, as if she is carrying the worries of the world."

I must admit that I'm so far muted of performance anxiety, unable to write anything. Don't want it to be too much of a cliché I suppose. I agree - I had terrible stage fright trying to come up with mine, not wanting to write anything stupid or cliché. I finally settled for a very basic "small, slender troll, very shy" type of thing until I thought of something better.

Here are the descriptions of two of my characters:
People always try to think of complicated backstories and personalities for their characters. Phaerae is pretty much the opposite of that - she's as plain as it gets.
But she has a personality. Maybe you can guess a little of it from the description.
I had issues writing the second part of her description - but I was in a rush anyway. Created this character about 50 minutes before the Loremaster Festival started, so I had to think of a backstory suited for the level and gear.
Maybe you can guess what her story is. ^^

Oh fantastic - thanks .... will work on it a bit more Saw your revised description at the fishing event. It was pretty good! When you're happy with it, I'd suggest posting it here again, so others can get inspiration from it.

Mine is short and sweet - can't remember it exactly but something along the lines of being relatively slim, pristine green robes but simple stitching (with the hope of implying she cares for what she's got on but hasn't got the money to upgrade), and the staff she has looks like something used as an aid to walking, not fighting.
I actually had some RP the other night. I asked if I could sit down on a bench next to someone and the poor belf did an emote that she sighed at my poor use of orcish. I spent the next 15 minutes working out how the smeg to talk in Thalassian, at which point she'd walked off.

Another slithly off-topic post, but I encourage all EU players to register on the argent archives, here's Djaboo's (not yet finished) profile.

This is my greatest fear of RP - that I will totally be "sighed in exasperation" at while attempting to participate! Hmmm, maybe I could work that trepidation into the backstory. <Spiritus gambols off from the group to perform some introspection>

Um...
So I think I failed a little to keep with the spirit of the thing but mine says
Donnatella has the air of someone who takes far too much time over her appearance. Style it seems, is more important than substance. She has just left her training as a novice priest and has set off to see the world. Her reality distortion field is in full effect and the world really does revolve around her. Like, really!

Technically, you only need the first sentence of that description. Everything else can be inferred from how your character behaves.
Does your character have any distinctive features?

Here's mine for my rogue, Gwyndi Widdershins:
I know you're supposed to describe appearance, not reactions... but that's my best attempt at conveying that she's a small town gnome in the big city, and she's so starstruck by it all that she can't quite remember she's supposed to be a badass rogue.
