I thought it might be nice to have an *ideas* thread, for people who have ideas about events, or who have heard about a successful event done elsewhere that we might want to try in SAN. Just on the offchance that there are people who have great ideas but might be reluctant/unable/not confident in the organisation/execution of them, and that there are some people who are brilliant at organisation and would like to get their teeth into something, I wondered if sharing ideas at early stages might be beneficial. It would also be a heads-up so if possible we can duplicate events (if we wish) between the US and EU As I say, just a thought, we will soon see if it is useful or not

And to kick off..
I really enjoyed the Gnomer Gnome rally on Saturday.
Any interest in raising gnome awareness in Stormwind? (Whee gnomes taking over the deeprun tram)

A couple of suggestions for events stolen from my guild's third year anniversary. Marco Polo in Orgrimmar and a sort of riddle/easter egg hunt. Each two man team would be given a riddle in form of a rhyme/poem and would have to find a specific location in Azeroth, if they found the right place there would be another person there to given them another riddle and so on.

Here's a detailed description of our guild one-year-anniversary scavenger hunt. It was one of the most fun things I've ever experienced in the game. Truly epic. However I realize that it must have taken a ton of effort from the officers who arranged the whole thing. Anyway... maybe it can give some kind of inspiration. www.pinkpigtailinn.com/2009/06/how-to-make-unforgettable-guild.html

Selfishly: A walking tour of the Horde capital cities (or a capital city), being sure to take in the off-the-beaten-dirt-track hidden gems. A long-time horde player would need to take the lead on this, but I would love it, and I suspect other people who haven't played much Horde-side might too. Meka recently told me about the shortcuts through Silvermoon in response to my whining about being lost all the time, and I'm sure one of the SANnies has blogged about this reasonably recently but I've added so many new people to my feeds list I've lost track of who. *wail*

Any interest in raising gnome awareness in Stormwind? Yes! Seconded. I'm with Elsen on this -- Stormwind's a great place. A gnome invasion would be just the ticket.

We should do a tour of the Alliance cities while we're at it...
I read on a blog (which I don't remember) about racing. Teams of one level 1 + two higher levels, whichever gets to the destination first wins. There were more rules of course, but I don't remember the details... sounded fun though.

A classic: 40man level1 (usually gnomes) raid against Hogger.
For those who only played Horde, Hogger is the first elite Alliance players usually fight. He's a level 11 gnoll in southwest Elwynn Forest.

OMG yes! I never did a proper Hogger raid!! (You can't join raids at level 1 anymore, but we can still gang up on him.)

I was at the Turpster Dingstravaganza which was absolutely hilarious - more than 200 lvl 5 gnomes and dwarfes set out to kill a lvl 69 undead priest in the cave in Dun Morogh. We did a smaller version of this in one of my guilds a year later, where 15 or so of my guildies levelled gnomes to lvl 5 and then set out to kill my lvl 45 troll mage in the very same cave - also fun but on a smaller scale! Another fun thing was the guild quiz! I guess you all have seen the Trivia Bot which asks questions about WoW and people get to reply as quick as possible? I did a guild version of it and filled it with questions about the people in the guild, both about their in-game chars and their RL ones and then ran in in g-chat. To do that here would require people sending the quizzer questions/answers beforehand I guess, or possibly stick to more common general questions. A naked gnome race from Dun Morogh to Menethil is great fun too, especially on a pvp server since you can't really be sure you won' run into some big baddie. Make a lvl 1 gnome and first to avoid/corpse run all the orc and crocs and get to the inn in Menethil wins. Takes a bit of tactic cause if you are first you will die from the mobs on the way. Was a gnome dart rally in one of my guilds recently. I could not attend but they had had great fun. Can be done with other chars ofc but gnomes are fun! Get your gnome to Dalaran with the help of a friendly neigbourhood lock if needs be and into the sewer pipe emptying out over the forest. Leader gnome jumps, and the rest jumps one by one and tries to come as close to his corpse as possible. Raising gnome awareness in Stormwind sounds great too - count me in!

I'm trying to put together a scavenger hunt/hide and seek event (EU side). I've actually done quite a lot of the 'thinking' and stuff and I was going to aim for Sunday 11 April - maybe early evening ish (say around 4.30pm UK time which would equate to 5.30pm Server Time) but I'd thought I'd float the timing to see if this would suit people? If it's not convenient maybe Saturday afternoon would be better? Any feedback around time would be appreciated before I make it 'official' - guesstimated event length would be 1.5 - 2 hours.
Thanks all.
