So, we were doing what we usually do in guild chat - talking about random stuff.
Somebody mentioned wanting to rerolling a DK for gold purposes, and someone else chimed in "Let me know when you're doing that so that I can do the quests with you". And so an idea was born. What if we gathered a lot of people to reroll DK alts at once - forming a raid? Think about how awesome it would be, doing the Battle at Light's Hope Chapel in a 25 man group, and then riding forth to Stormwind in the same group. We could go anywhere from there.
Bring out your dead! When - Batch 1: 11PM Server Time, today (as of server time, anyway) When - Batch 2: We might have a Batch 2 for the GMT+8 to 12 crew, if there's enough interest there. Even a party of five would be fun. What: First, we all meet up in Acherus, and split up into parties. After that, we can continue with the quest chain until we hit The Light of Dawn. I'm not sure if we should do the quests together, because I honestly doubt you can do them as a raid group. Before The Light of Dawn, we all meet up and start the quest together. Then... we fight! After that, we have to split up to do Taking Back Acherus again, and then we can go to Stormwind together. What happens after that... nobody knows.
So, if you're interested, post here! Let us know when you're available - we can see if we can reschedule it on the day itself.
List of Participants 1. Phaerae - DK name: Faeyel (pronounced Fai-yael)

This sounds very cool, would be fun to do a version on the EU side as well.

Me too but we're totally hijacking this thread *ahem* Probably because all the americans are still asleep, while all of us are bored at work.

I'd be up for that -- I've already got a DK on Argent Dawn, Kazuligosa, but she hasn't gotten very far in the quest chain yet -- she's still in the first phase of Acherus. I'll try to be on Argent Dawn tonight at the appropriate time to join in the fun.
ETA: just rembered that we're going to sister-in-law's house for dinner tonight, and we may not be back in time. But if we are, I'll be there.

Thanks for posting it Paerae!!
(and you came up with a great name too!)
I know for a fact you can't complete quests in a raid group, but you can (obviously) do them as a party.
The only other thing is to worry if there are any "collect 37 Jabberwocky appendixes" since that would be a challenge in a multi group of 25.
One other thing: I think we need some sort of "story" so that, if we get asked, we can "keep in character". My only thought was a mass mutiny of sorts, but I don't know enough lore to make it sound even remotely RP.

If my raid doesn't go off tonight- and as like six people are out of town, it almost certainly won't- I'll be there will bells on. Bells made of evil, suffering, and terrible emo vampire RP.
Off to see what kind of name I can claim... I have a few ideas. And the idea of RPing a dwarven DK is suddenly oddly appealing.
ETA: Badgertooth now exists. He is basically just a pair of hostile little eyes and a gigantic beard jutting out the starter DK helm. I'm unreasonably fond of him.

I've already got my DK sitting out there in the wild farming mats (Engineering goggles FTW!) and leveling Blacksmithing (I know you were all probably sick of hearing me gank any BS that comes into chat range about making me some). Wish I could roll another, but alas...
However, if I'm on when you all are on, I'll switch over to Dagrunt (my DK) and escort you all in since me and the king are already on good terms and all. It'll be a pleasure.

I'm totally in. I have never rolled a DK, being a hunter-player and all, but as the Non-Hunter Alt Experiment seems to be clicking along, I am ready for more horizon-expanding.
And so, we rolls Kiadikai... pronounced like Kia-D-K. Yes, I am absolutely One Of Those.

Have fun! I'll be sidelining as I've already made my only allowable DK with high professions. The second account needs a level 55 =/

Today's event was a moderate success! Well, there was a bit of organizational failure on my part, but besides that - I think everyone had fun, so it's all good. Okay, so here's a little breakdown from a RP perspective. I wanted to write from Faeyel's perspective, but it's a little hard. So yeah, this isn't really in character. At least, not the way she speaks. Also, after writing it, it feels a little awkward. Needs some work. Oh well, we'll see what I can do with it later. I'm keeping the images as links so as to not clutter up the thread too much. Here's a link to the album of photos if you're interested: DK RaidOh, and here's a link to a non-RP perspective by Lark! Bring Out Your Dead!~~~ One day, I woke up. I remember feeling all hollow inside. It was frightening. But then, a voice spoke to me. It was the Lich King. His voice was commanding! He gave me direction when I had none... He ordered a squad of soldiers, myself included, to stand together as a group.Group PhotoGroup Photo 2After that, we were dispatched to split up into several groups. I was to lead my small group of five. We followed the Lich King's orders to the letter - purging the town of New Avalon of its soldiers as well as the peasantry. I still don't know why I did the things I did - they could have been my friends... but I had forgotten all that. It was all very hazy - it felt like hours were passing in the blink of an eye.
But there was one thing I remembered. Squeezing into a cart with two of my squadmates. The cart was barely big enough to fit me, much less to say me with two other Night Elves... but it was fortunate that I made it! At our destination, we fired a volley from the ship's cannons into the unwitting soldiers. I still remember it vividly. It was strangely frightening.Cannons!Cannons! 2Cannons! 3After that, we continued obeying the Lich King's orders - saving a fellow Death Knight named Koltira Deathweaver, under the orders of Thassarian. And I remember slaying Goby ... with my own blade. It was something that shook me. And I remembered, at that time, part of my past. What had I become?
But the Lich King's hold on me was strong. I couldn't shake off his control yet. We were gathered again as a large squad, and ordered to lay waste to the town of New Avalon. Countless soldiers perished this day. I still regret my actions.FrostbroodFrostbrood 2Frostbrood 3Frostbrood 4Frostbrood 5The Frostbrood ChargeThe Frostbrood Charge 2The Attack on New AvalonThe Attack on New Avalon 2Immediately after that, we were given new attacks. To launch an attack on Light's Hope Chapel. The odds were overwhelming. There were over thousands of us... against a mere three hundred. Who could have expected what happened? The Battle at Light's HopeThe Battle at Light's Hope 2The Battle at Light's Hope 3THe Battle at Light's Hope 4I remember that Highlord Mograine was having problems throughout the fight. Ashbringer refused to obey him. But that was never a problem.
One man halted us all. I will never forget that moment. The Highlord Tirion Fordring arrived, and single-handedly stopped all of our forces.
Many things unfolded, but at the end of it all, I was given an experience that I would never forget.
And I swore. That the Lich King would pay for all he had done to me. Pay for all he had made me do. And pay for all he had done to my friends.Light's Hope Chapel (Part 2)Light's Hope Chapel (Part 2) 2After we retook Acherus from Patchwerk and the rest of the Lich King's minions, Highlord Mograine commanded us to go to Stormwind - the capital of the Alliance forces - to forge an alliance with, well, the Alliance.Stormwind 1Stormwind 2Stormwind 3After forging the alliance, we were eager to prove our loyalty to the Alliance. At that very time, some eager members of the Horde were laying siege to Stormwind - and so we stepped up to the plate and fought to defend Stormwind - even though they were much stronger than us individually, we managed to overcome them in numbers.Defending StormwindDefending Stormwind 2We were successful. Following that, we resolved to defend the Arathi Basin at the Arathi Highlands. With our superior strength, we quickly crushed the opposition, and won a decisive victory.
From here on out... I don't know what I'm going to do. But I'm going to fight for the Alliance, fight for the Knights of the Ebon Blade... and most importantly, I will slay the Lich King or die trying (again).

This sounds like fun. Weekend afternoon/morning would be the best time for me. Weekdays are always bad and weekend nights is when I raid.
I'm part of the EST crowd, but work second shift... so late late one weekday night might work too.
