We got the idea yesterday night in SAN-EU : seeing we're an international guild, why not create specific chans to speak French, Spanish, German ? (that's the languages we talked about yesterday)
We could call them "sanfr" "sansp" " sande" for example.
People on these chans will speak the chan's language, except if it's a question about the language, if you want a translation for example, you can ask in English. And I know after a few discussions that many people practice their English as a second language in Wow, why not practice other languages too.
From now on, I will /join sanfr Feel free to come and say "salut !"
Tell me what you think about that. I'd love to ear about it.
Edit :
Chans created in SAN-EU :
[SANfr] French [SANde] German [SANsp] Spanish [SANit] Italian

Sounds like a great idea! I'll be sure to hop into the sansp and sande channels to practice my limited and grammatically horrific spanish and german Poor souls who will have to deal with that

OMG! I wanted to post about this yesterday, after I read about Poivre learning French with you, but I thought no one would be interested! Be warned, I love analyzing languages, so I'll probably be full of questions

I have no desire to join a Dutch channel. I joined a european server for the international community and never joined a dutch only guild even though there are several to chose from on my home server. Besides, most interesting Dutch people should know how to write a good sentence in English.

Well Herb, I think that's the whole point of this thing. Or at least for me. I am not French but I want to learn (better) French. So I get to meet actual people from France (hai Nef!) and talk to them in a very international environment. Very much win.

Seeing we're in SAN, no one *have to* join any chan. But if people want to speak French with me or anyone else, I don't think we should use the guild chat, guildchat is in English so that everyone can understand. Of course we could use tells, but a chan can involve more people and is then much more interesting. This is the idea. Those who love it join it, those who don't, don't.

Oooh, SANde will be my new home Was in the SANde channel last night with Deylanna, and had heaps of fun. Hope I didn't mangle the german language too much. I think there was a bit of deunglish or engleutsch involved as well

Not only did we learn a lot of vocabulary but also found out that schoolsystems are far too difficult no matter which country ;D I'm looking forward to seeing more people in SANde!
